Moon Men and Cotton Candy“What is this?”
John looked up and frowned. “It’s a movie.”
“Obviously,” the detective rolled his eyes. “About moon men?”
“Oh, shut up.” John snorted. “You hate all the movies I pick out. You’ll only deduce this one too, I’m sure.”
Sherlock huffed but said nothing as he shoved his hands into his pockets, glaring at the doctor. John rolled his eyes and headed towards the counter, pausing by the snacks. He raised an eyebrow as he looked back over his shoulder.
“What?”
John closed his eyes and counted to ten. “Snacks, Sherlock. Want anything?”
Sherlock huffed again, hand snaking out to grab a bag of cotton candy. “Do people actually eat this?”
“Yes. Usually at fairs, though. Can be a bit sticky.” John shrugged.
Sherlock stared at the brightly colored confection before heaving a heavy sigh. He soundly thoroughly put out by this whole affair. John
I Never Promised You a Rose GardenIt was nearly a weekly routine. He’d make his way to the cemetery, occasionally pause at the edge of a large field of wildflowers to pick a small bouquet, and finish his walk. He’d stop by the stone that held their names and places the flowers, spending a brief amount of time there, sometimes talking, sometimes silent.
His return home was by far much quicker. He’d walk quickly through the cemetery, past the field, and return home to lock himself away for another week, maybe two if he thought he could get away with it.
It went on this way for months, until he hesitated at the edge of the field, suddenly wary of the tall man who stood in the middle of the wildflowers. He had a scowl on his face and quicksilver eyes seemed to bore into his mind.
“You’re the one stealing flowers from my garden.”
He blinked rapidly for a moment, mouth hanging open in surprise. His garden? It was just a field of wildflowers, not a garden. Wasn’t it?

75 - ShadowsThe city was empty of people, filled only with the wreckage from what the war had wrought. Broken vehicles crowded the streets, trash fluttered in the wind. The only sound came from the few birds that had dared to return.
It was disgusting, and it shook him to his core. The government was busy with what they thought was the main battle – protecting what was left from foreign countries; but they had no clue what was going on in their own backyard.
He grumbled as he stalked off on his section of the abandoned wasteland – lucky enough to be part of a group that was self-sufficient and could protect themselves from whatever lay out here. It was made up of mostly ex-military, but they worked together as if they had been working together their whole lives. It worked well enough for now.
“See anything out there, Ragnorrock?” A voice spoke through garbled static in his ear.
He shook his head, frowning as he remembered no one could see him. “Nothing yet, sir

Prodigy Chapter 1: Abandoned
Strange. Isn’t it? Strange how life works. We’re born, we live, we hope to have children of our own, and then we die. Period. There is no other option, no backdoor, no secret to immortality. Death comes naturally. Funny how now, on the verge of my own demise I think of such a topic as life. A red puddle of life settling around me. The cold of death climbing up my back. And with it all, I am scared. I don’t want to die, I don’t want to pass on to another life. I just want to stay here. I just want to live. And it’s not like I’ll pass on to paradise. I have sinned, I have killed and treated wrongly. My mother and father use to tell me a story of a human that died and bleed for all sins. For redemption of all sins. But. I’m not so sure, if he bleed enough for me. But I suppose in a strange way, my own pool of blood will suffice for them. I mean, it is just a puddle of roses. Blood is blood, we all have it, we all wound ourselves and shed it, but s
Canis and Lupus: The first gods, Artists of allThere is no origin of what comes before, existence has no fault line of start nor finish, but there has always been something, and there will never be nothing. This is the way of the world, this is the way time, and this is the way of gods.
Canis can recollect no memory of his birth. No when, where, why, or how, other than he appeared how he has always been. His young pure white figure glowing in radiance and purity, no fault as his eyes shown in the dark void of what was, at the time, the universe. He called out into the void for anyone to respond as he sat there alone in the dark, his form being the only light to fill the space.
He sat down upon his haunches and howled out to the void and it bounced and pounded in an echo over the infinite. He knew not why he called, but by a natural act he did, hoping to have a common song chime up to the void and fill his heart with glee, but there was no response immediately, nor for the eternity that passed within a few breaths of the god.   Marlo: Caretaker of man, fallen god (part 1)It is the way of kings and civilizations to rise and fall in accordance to their times of fate. It’s inevitable to stop the ebb and flow of the universal time and its cycles and birth, life, and death. And Marlo is the existence that proves that not even omnipotence is immune to this fact.
Marlo was born into a world far past the great success of his kind. No longer was he the dominant of his species, ruling the earth with fang and claw. It was man whom had their hands upon the crafts of the world. Building and creating weapons to fight against their dangerous foes whom they rivaled against over conquest of their planet. Battles waged and wars were won all across the surface of the planet and it was during one of the many battles that Marlo was birthed.
His pack family despised men and it was by this that they often snuck into the human encampments in the night and they would find the infant children who were away from the safety of their mothers. These were easy prey now but wou

I'm not asking for sympathy, I'm not asking for advice, I'm not really asking anything from anyone. You don't even have to read this. This is just a vent journal because I feel like I need to scream this into a void.

was working on some art for a future tutorial while simultaneously planning on making it a print when outta nowhere my program just crashes. SO fucking annoyed. even when i saved my progress several times it didn't save anything and i have to start from scratch...so i'm done with digital art for the day before i throw my computer out the window. guess i'll sketch some comic pages....

and i got hired on as an inker for an upcoming comic series and we're getting ready for a Kickstarter. but because most of the team lives outside the US they want me to host the campaign and handle mailing out the rewards. this would mean the donations would come directly to me, along with all crazy e-mails and questions that people may have, or GOD FORBID mail gets lost. They told me I can increase my amount (because a lot of indie artists don't get paid per comic page, a lot of us have to get by with royalty deals or getting payed from crowdfunding.) I don't mind being part of a team, I'm all for teamwork especially if it's to help increase the success of a series, but I don't like how I'm getting all this responsibility dumped on me.

I was told the comic market is easier in the US, so we're targeting towards American audiences. Fine. But not only do they want me to host the campaign and personally mail out all the rewards when I'm just an inker--I don't even know what the god damn story is about--they also want me to look around for an inexpensive comic print shop and collect quotes. uuum.....again, I don't mind but have me to this job. The creator, imo, should be the one hosting the campaign since they have the most knowledge. Granted, if anyone DOES have questions I can always message the creator but that's an extra unnecessary step and I'm literally the messenger when I know nothing about the project other than our goals and it's a series. I don't know what the story is about, I don't know who the other people on the team are, and I have enough on my plate without this added stress.

I wish i could begin to list out all the projects I have to do and some days I feel like my head is going to explode. I'm tired all the fucking time. coffee doesn't even help anymore. i just drink it out of habit. I have a lot of projects, all of which i'm honored to be apart of and I'm grateful (i'm definitely not the person who bites the hand that feeds them) but like....it just feels rude to dump all of this on someone you just met! i just...i don't know...getting accepted as an inker is difficult enough, especially for this high quality of a comic that's being made. Like the art is mindblowing! So I don't want to leave it because I think it'll resonate with a lot of people, but I can't do all of this by myself especially on a project I know nothing about. I'm the inker, i'm just supposed to worry about getting the comic done so we can push it to publishers quicker while the creator is the one to worry about campaigns while the rest of the team helps advertise it.

I've already asked these questions to the creator. They told me the answers. I'm still unsure about it. I wanna come to an agreement, I don't want to be a pushover.
I don't know.
All I know is my hands are constantly cramping and I don't want to do this by myself but what the fuck do i know. I'm just an indie artist so i just need to shut up and keep my problems to myself because all I do is "draw all day".

Anyway....on a lighter note, my husband and I are going away this weekend to a cabin. No electricity, no plumbing. Outhouse, woodstove, and a roof over our head. We're getting away from everything, including technology this weekend and god am I looking forward to it. the only things we're bringing are our cellphones, but no laptop, no ipods, nadda. It's gonna be totes mcgoats.

EDIT: I know there's ways to make this work. I could put their e-mail or something when I'm setting up the Kickstarter that way, questions will immediately go to them. and we're not doing the kickstarter for a while, we're still waiting on the colorist. And I do think constantly advertising and posting about the Kickstarter will help get my name out there more since I'll be the one advertising/showing pictures/and sending out stuff...it's just a lot of expectations for one person....hopefully the comic printing shop I know will be open to making copies....

I made a Fur Flow tutorial on my Youtube.
I tried uploading it here on dA but it exceeded the limit.
In the video I go into depth with realistic fur direction then conveying that into a cell-shaded piece.
Either next week or the week after I plan on uploading a cell-shaded fur tutorial.

If you want (yes I'm gonna shamelessly promote like the advertising whore that I am lol!) you can Subscribe to my Youtube channel for more tutorials.
I'm always open for suggestions, so have at it!
I also make tutorials about making comics, more animal/human anatomy, digital art, pitching your comic to publishers, and I plan on doing more artsy fartsy stuff in the future.

Thank you!

I feel bad I haven't done a productive journal in a while. Most of my journals have been updating about all the comic work I've been doing but I know that can get a little annoying.
I've tried to think about what I could journal about but honestly, there hasn't been anything. My life is pretty boring.
I wake up, make coffee, draw until 3am, maybe eat some cereal, go to bed and rinse then repeat. I have little to no drama. I'm not complaining by any means, I'm very grateful, especially since I know my way of life can be drastically different than someone else's, I understand we all come from numerous walks of life. So I'm grateful, I'm just letting you know that the "comic updates" journals I make may be repetitive and annoying, but they're the only things that are going on and I know I have some comic readers here so I update for them.

well now that I'm done making myself sound like a pretentious asshole, let's see if I redeem myself by offering an Artist Feature. That way, it'll hopefully break my streak of "comic update" journals and maybe help some of my fellow artists. I don't know how many of my watchers are active, but it'll hopefully  it'll help a little bit.

Just post your Top 3 favorite deviations in the comments below and I'll make a spotlight journal in September ;p

Hey all,

Well it's certainly been a while since I made a journal. I have more updates but I don't wanna give you a textbook update so I'll announce those other projects at a later date.

But I wanted to share that I'm trying to revive my Youtube channel. I want to start uploading more Timelapses, Walkthrough voiceover videos, and Tutorials; as well as other miscellaneous videos to help with preparing for conventions, submitting to publishers, and other stuff. I'll be uploading a walkthrough video tomorrow, and I'm trying to figure out how to make a channel trailer. I also plan on making some fur tutorials because I know this has been requested on multiple occasions. I'm mainly gonna steer the channel towards illustration and comic-making. I found some old cameras I have lying around so maybe I can do some traditional art videos.

If you want, you can check out my channel and see what's uploaded so far: www.youtube.com/channel/UCNOWA…

On another note, I was recently hired to be an illustrator for MAD Z Productions new film "BLOOD/LUST" written and directed by Dave Zagorski.

OVERVIEW: Blood/Lust is the third feature film by writer/director David Zagorski. A dark and disturbing tale of a young girl, lonely and emotionally lost, who finds a kindred spirit and friendship in the most unlikely of places: the vampire who just moved in down the hall.

He requested me to draw several illustrations to be featured in the film for the main character. The film is planned to begin production soon! If you guys wanna support the director who gave my art a chance and a feature in his feature length film, the project is LIVE through indiegogo:

BLOOD/LUST ON INDIEGOGO: www.indiegogo.com/projects/blo…

The page has all the information you need such as cast and crew, synopsis, or you can even apply to be an Associate or Executive Producer.
The perks start as low as $5.00 and range from T-Shirts, Prints, copies of the DVD, autographs from the cast, and much more! If you're in the mood for a new take on the vampire tale to hold it's own among it's predecessors, and help this director who helped me, you can either pledge or share the campaign on any or all media you're on :)

I'll be back soon with more updates.
